Title: Mooon Dreams
Location: Greater Houston Builders Association Building: 9511 West Sam Houston Parkway North
Artist: Lucy Wiley
JuicyLucyStudio.com
Sponsor: GHBA Benefit Homes Project

Artist Lucy Wiley explains, “When I first heard of CowParade Houston, I immediately thought of the nursery rhyme, “Hey Diddle Diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon.” I wanted to make a cow move through space and the sleeping cow seemed a natural complement to the theme.” She has a sister cow, “Over the Moon.” This incredible work of art truly turns a nursery rhyme into real life. The fantastic pink cow is peacefully dreaming atop a huge sliver of the moon.

Artist was born in rural Oklahoma near the end of WWII, lived in Germany, California, and Virginia before returning to Texas in the 80’s. Wiley has a master’s degree in art and has been working in clay, welded steel and paper maiche for more than 15 years. Before her career as an artist, Wiley worked as a journalist and freelance writer. Wiley lives in Houston Heights with her husband, two cats and a dog.

This cow was sold in Flight 4 of the internet auction hosted by Amazon.com that ran from December 15 - 21, 2001.
