Cozy Cow is a gentle cow. Her blanket is a patchwork of flowers, each individually designed and painted by young artists from Creative Alternatives studio classes. Designing their flower patch, children were encouraged to be creative. Some flowers seem to float, all come in vivid colors, some have insects buzzing about them. Look closely at the individual squares - through open eyes, see the wonder of creation, both of nature and of art.
Creative Alternatives, a nonprofit arts organization since 1982, has provided fine arts experiences to countless elementary students in the greater Houston area. In Art After School, artist/instructors teach a series of hands-on art classes at local schools. Each semester introduces students to well-known artists, different art materials and techniques.
